Kerala State Film Awards for Best Sound Designer in the year 2015, 2017 & 2021 for the movies Ennu Ninte Moideen, Ee Ma Yau and Churuli respectively. Kerala Film Critics Award 2017, J.C Daniel Foundation Award 2021, Indywood Awards in the year 2016 & 2018. Best Sound Designer Award at the International Film Festival of Aurangabad, 2020. He was Nominated for the Motion Picture Sound Editors, USA (MPSE) Awards in 2020 for his work Jallikattu. He is one among the few Indian sound designers to receive this prestigious international recognition. In 2021, he was also nominated for Best Sound Designer at the International Film Festival of Busan for his work on Churuli. The poetry installation, an amalgamation of poetry, sculpture and sound has earned him a place in the Limca Book of Records in 2015.
Ranganath Raveendran known professionally as Renganaath Ravee is a sound designer, supervising sound editor, and documentary filmmaker with extensive experience in the film industry. He started his career as an assistant to K.T Francis, an eminent audio engineer. In 2005 Renganaath joined as a sound recordist at Tharangni Records, owned by the legend Padmavibhushan Dr. K.J Yesudas. Later, Renganaath moved to Hashtone post sound in Mumbai established by the National award winner Vivek Sachidanand. In Mumbai he worked with renowned sound designers - Dwarak Warrier, P. Balram and Resul Pookutty. In 2010, he became an Independent sound designer in Lijo Jose Pellissery’s debut movie Nayakan. Among others, Renganaath has collaborated with filmmakers like Meghna Gulzar, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Bejoy Nambiar, Jayaraj, Shyamaprasad, Sopan Muller, Jaideep Varma, Yasmin Kidwai, Rajan Khosa, and Anand Gandhi. For nearly two decades he has worked on over 150 feature films across eleven languages - English, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Ladakhi, Marathi, Nepali, Arabic and Portuguese. His expertise extends beyond feature films to documentaries, short films, advertisements, and installations. He is also noted for his unique contributions to the intersection of art and sound. His poetry installation, which creatively combines sound, sculpture, and poetry, is the first of its kind in art history. He has used sound to interpret over ten poems written by distinguished poets from around the world. In addition to his work in sound design, Renganaath Ravee has also produced documentaries and a musical video under his production house Crescendo Cinemas Private Limited. Renganaath is a visiting faculty at various noted film schools. He directed his debut documentary “Daveli… a Tale Song”, a vanishing folk art which was popular in central Kerala.
