“I am a filmmaker and cinematographer who believes cinema is not just about images, but about spaces, emotions, and philosophies that shape narratives. My roots in Kanyakumari and my research in transcendental philosophy deeply influence the way I frame stories — balancing visual aesthetics with meaning. I have worked across both creative and academic landscapes, but my primary identity is that of a visual storyteller, constantly exploring light, composition, and cinematic space to create immersive experiences. Alongside filmmaking, I guide young storytellers as Academic Director at Luminar Film Academy, Kochi, while continuing to experiment with decolonial and practice-led approaches to cinema.”
“As a cinematographer, my work spans feature films, documentaries, and international collaborations. I shot Tide of Lies (UK–India), an English feature film born from my practice-based PhD research, which went on to screen at international festivals across seven countries and win multiple awards. I was also the cinematographer for Quicksands, a Kurdish feature film, and served as location photographer for the English feature Cleft Lip. Beyond features, I have contributed as Director of Photography for the UK documentary Prana – Life in You, addressing organ donation awareness, and collaborated on global projects including That’s La Morte (documentary), Transmission Interactive (digital dance installation, UK), and the Aftershock Nepal Project with Bournemouth University and Tribhuvan University, where I created immersive 360° VR films. My visual practice explores light, texture, and space as narrative forces, while adapting across cultural contexts to tell stories that resonate universally.”
